Traditional Litigation Approach
If you are already involved with Lawyers and feel this is the only way you will get resolution to your particular situation than the most information you can have in making your decision the better off you will be.
How does a CDFA work in the Litigation Approach
- The information provided will help you to make decisions as the
process evolves
- As a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, my expertise can be
relied on and evidence built for cases in need of support and equalization
- By understanding the short and long term implications of your decisions your stress level is reduced.
- Ensure your cash flow will be sufficient to cover the needs for you and your children
- Examine tax implications on current and future income, retirement assets and invested assets, capital gains and real estate
- Risk analysis
- Reduce your legal cost by taking the question out of the financial side of the decision making proces
This approach is the most costly, and time consuming. Each persons lawyer is paid to negotiate on your behalf and left to achieve the best settlement for you. It is much more confrontational and can sometime lead to court. If communication between you and your spouse has broken down and the only alternative is to go to court, than a judge would be the one to make rulings on your behalf and either party is bound by them. In this scenario the more information you and your lawyer have to base your arguments on, the harder it would be for the other side to contest your claim.
